Fruit? | Pad Patter 08.23.2021

Oh man! This is a hard question! I think I'd lean toward Farrah's suggestion of grapes because of wine. :giggle

Or cherries. I love them and the delicious desserts they can be made into. :agree

I would have to jump on the banana train, but i do love berries too.
Way too hard to pick a single favourite.

One fruit? F*ck that's hard cause I'm a fruity person and I love my fruits .... but I'd probably choose mango

Love grapefruit, but am not allowed to eat it b/c it interferes with a med that I'm on.

i'm team banana although i'm assuming i can have them at my preferred ripeness on the sliding scale, ideally midway between green & chalky and bruised and mushy, in this hypothetical forever

Yep. I just tossed out half a bunch b/c they were bruised looking and a few of them were peeling themselves ... yuck. Good thing bananas are cheap, I toss a lot of them in the trash.

They can be frozen, skin on & all, they're handy as an egg replacer in anything baked, i've tried so many 'hacks' to slow ripening over the years (& DD's first science fair project was on factors in banana ripening); seperating them & aluminium foil wrapped over the stems seems to slow it the most but can't do much when heat & humidity are bad so we make a lot of banana bread & smoothies then!

I used to freeze them and make banana bread, but only my daughter eats banana bread. Since she's 46, she can make her own banana bread, and she's too lazy to bother, lol! I really dislike cooking/baking. Thankfully bananas are super cheap ...
