Hello and welcome to April’s Random Challenge. Today I’d love to take us all back to our scrapbooking roots with one of the very first products created for this hobby: the photo corner. Photo corners can be quite rare in our scrapbooking today (especially with digi scraping) but at one time you would hardly see a scrapbook page without them. Photo corners have come a long way since the little black self adhesive ones … I’ve seen them made from a doily, fabric, crocheted, ribbon and cut from various papers. So let’s make a page with at least one photo corner used on a photo (although you are welcome to use as many photo corners as you would like on your page). You can cluster it and dress it up anyway you wish, but you must use a photo corner and it must be visible. To clarify you cannot use a cluster of other elements and call it a “photo corner” (ie. flower and leaves with buttons and flair to “make” a photo corner). You must have an actual photo corner on the photo - and then you can embellish it a bit if you'd like, but I want to be able to see it please. It can be made from: cutting something into a triangular shape like paper, a doily, or cardboard can be pre-made and found in a kit. You can do a search for “photo corner” in the store and see which kits list them in the product description as I’ve done: PHOTO CORNER Here are 2 examples of pages with photo corners that I found in the gallery and loved. by KarenC by CharlotteM And here is my page: The bottom left corner of my photo has two photo corners layered: a cardboard photo corner and a doily photo corner. The top right corner is a cluster of leaves, a flower, and a monogram alpha - this is NOT a photo corner for the purpose of this challenge. Now it's your turn to make a page with at least one photo corner used on a photo. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Please remember our monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the March Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
Glad you like! You can use the traditional black photo corner - doesn't have to be anything new or different - totally up to you!
Super fun challenge, I really enjoyed scrapping this page! thank you so much for hosting. Here's my take, full credits in gallery. Happy Easter my dear!
