Happy little things \ Pad Patter 12 Feb

We finally made our engagement offical...I got a sparkly.. and we have talked about actually wedding planning with our family! :) a Fall 2022 wedding is in the works!

sooo yeah.. that is my happy happy happy this week!

@dotcomkari Congratulations! Such happy news. :)

Lots of happy things for me. After eight long weeks, I can finally look down and see both feet again. The crutches are gone!

The sun is shining and it is a balmy 59 degrees here today, and I am about to eat a large slice of cake!:woot

@dotcomkari congratulations!! Nice ring! My "little thing" isn't such a little thing when you don't have it. Our water pipes have frozen up for the third day in a row. The guys just get them thawed out and they freeze again. It makes me SO grateful for water - it's such a necessity and makes me so sad to think of the parts of the world that don't have enough water. We're also so blessed to be able to go buy gallons of water right now - we can't even flush the toilets without pouring almost a gallon of water into the tank. That's a LOT of water, right there! I don't mean to be a "downer" but we are truly blessed to have water!

I'm so thankful for the things that we take for granted.

A little thing this week was the change in weather, we finally got a few inches of snow, starting on Friday, and the dogs loved it. It was fun to watch the pup experience snow for the first time and she and Taz raced and wrestled for hours outside. It’ll be gone by tomorrow so it was around for just long enough :)

My little thing was taking a lovely LONG nap yesterday afternoon. I was bored and completely unmotivated to do anything, so I sat in the recliner and read my book until I fell asleep! I haven't taken a nap in so long and it felt wonderful! :giggle

The thing that has made me happy this week was two emails I received in work yesterday. I have been in my job since August last year, after being out of work for 7 months. Bad experience with previous employer, long story.

Anyway I was given an extra role in my job to take the minutes at the board and management meetings. And got two lovely emails from the two company bosses giving me amazing feedback on my work and how I have earned the minute taking role by showing my professionalism in the role. So happy to feel appreciated and know doing a good job.

(I work as a receptionist for a charity)

I don't know if it's an Aussie thing but I remember learning as a kid in the drought about 'bucket flushing' - using grey water mum collected from the washing machine rinse cycle & was left in a few buckets in the bathroom so we weren't wasting 'new' water by literally flushing it down the loo. So yep water might be something that we don't even think about as lucky to have but you know about it when it's gone - I'm sure this winter has been a learning curve for you!

I can't remember ever being bored as an adult like that, unless I was in a meeting thinking there's so much other useful stuff I could be doing!

It's always nice to be appreciated like that, I'm glad after your bad experience you've found a place you are clearly valued (& please don't scroll up and read my last comment about meetings! :giggle)
