What little thing made you happy this week?

Maybe it was the start of the Love Our Designers event?

For DS, it was getting maths homework for the first time in highschool (yes, he's that kind of kid and yes, he'd done it within minutes of getting home and i didn't even need to ask).

In the spirit of being grateful and reflecting, i was happy to talk to a real live person that made sense in a bank branch the other day, after getting nowhere with automated phone menus and poor voice recognition and so many non-sensical options, and then being stuck in a queue for ages several times to the point that i gave up. It may make me sound old and impatient but brick & mortar branches, though few and far between now, with real people behind the desk to solve issues never fail to make me happy!

And also, if you write the date day/month/year like in Aust, happy palindrome day! ( 12.2.21 ) this made DD crazy happy but not so many other people at school were as impressed really but we like these things - like seeing 12:34 on the clock at lunch time is kinda cool to us - it's the little things right?

What made me happy this week.... I am back doing my volunteer work in Aged Care and this week was given permission to start back holding Christian Worship every second Sunday afternoon with the residents that want to join me. Some of them really look forward to this as we sing some of the older styled hymns.

We finally made our engagement offical...I got a sparkly.. and we have talked about actually wedding planning with our family! :) a Fall 2022 wedding is in the works!
All 7 bridesmaids said yes, and Eric asked my son to be one of his men (probably best man!) ... its all looking bright and sunny

sooo yeah.. that is my happy happy happy this week!

Speaking of palindrome, my phone number minus the country and area code is one: 5991995.

We are headed to Kentucky tomorrow and it is supposed to snow there all week, starting on Monday - and stop before we come home. I am excited!

We got all of our school work done & put away AND the bathrooms got cleaned. Now I feel like I can relax on this Friday night!

Oh wow! What a gorgeous sparkly it is and huge congrats!

I was so glad that my mom was willing to take my son during virtual class today. They were going to be doing Valentine's crafts and not only am I not crafty in that way but I also have to work so I can't take 2 hours to sit with him and help him along.

I was able to work from 12 - 4 pm (when usually I sit with him from 12 - 1:10 pm) without interruption and not have to deal with the headache & anxiety of doing crafts with a perfectionistic 6-year-old.

A little thing today was grabbing the last can of ice cold Diet Pepsi and pouring it over ice. I try to view them as treats these days as I'm attempting to drink more water. Boy, that sparkling soda water tasted good, though! LOL

Maybe not so little, but it certainly made me happy! My husband and I got our first Covid vaccine shots this morning. Next month will be shot #2 and then maybe we can travel to my daughter's and visit!

My forecast has changed from snow starting on Monday to starting on Sunday and the total has increased by a lot. So for your sake I hope you don't get anywhere near what it is in my forecast several hours north of Cincinnati!

As for the happy little things, although it didn't happen this week but last week. My mom's cousin was sorting through boxes of old photos and ran across the photos from her daughter's wedding in 1996. She texted one of them to myself and my cousin. It was of the 2 of us with my mom. I asked about another photo that I knew had been taken but I had never seen. An hour later, she found it and texted it to me. I started crying since it was the last photo taken of my parents and I (her daughter was in the photo as well since she was walking us out of the reception). My mom passed away 5 weeks later. Then I got a card from her in the mail a few days later and she sent me the hard copies of the photos.

I met a friend for breakfast.
Sounds silly now, but for all of us since covid - these connections make a huge difference.
I was the first friend she has met this year. Humbled and honoured.

Super congrats @dotcomkari delighted for you. Stunning sparkly and fab photo.

I'm terrible at remembering phone numbers but I think I'd be able to remember a palindromic one - plus the kids would love it & wish we had one like yours, lucky duck! (and enjoy your snowy getaway!)

Having to really think of one good thing to happen this week...it’s not that nothing happened but anything that did was bad news.

Just thought of one good thing this week....Having considerate neighbours (we have about 10 sets of neighbours around us plus a main road and a two track railway line one section away)......now to many this might not seem like a big deal but lately my neighbours when they have had parties or music, its been decent music at a decent time and not overly loud and it finishes at a reasonable time (around midnight instead of 3,4,5 or 6am like it used to). This is a big thing because Christmas day we had issues because they were playing loud music before 7am!

@dotcomkari That's awesome! Congratulations & what a gorgeous ring!!

The LOD event was a nice surprise because I had forgotten about it.

My husband just made a strawberry cake with chocolate icing for our family Valentine's dinner tomorrow. We usually have a chocolate cake with strawberry icing and it was kind of cute how excited he was to make this box cake. I guess I'll keep him! :wubb
