I love the creativity that I'm seeing with these doodles! This one stretched me as I don't used doodles very often, but perhaps now I'll start using them a bit more.
These doodles are amazing, thanks for the freebie. @bellbird will you take a peek at mine and let me know if I have understood correctly, I was worried about the use of the style - I can modify it, if its not quite right. Thank you.
I used 2 mandalas, the leaves, and the chevron. p.s. I was looking on Facebook for something to use for the Diary challenge and came across these wonderful responses to the AJ I did back in March for a challenge here at TLP.
I'm actually really surprised that I didn't end up using the mandalas. When I first saw the doodle pack I thought for sure I would! I'll have to use them another time..
Very fun challenge & thank you for sharing the doodle art. I used the flowers, the mandalas in the background (lightened), the tear drops (cut-up) & the flower border.
i'll be back to comment later but for the die cut, in Photoshop, i clicked on and made the mandala doodle layer active in the Layers Palette and then used the magic wand to select the area outside the mandala (so there's marching ants around the outer edge of the doodle. Then I went Select > Inverse (Shift Ctrl I) so now i have the whole of the mandala area (including all the detailed bits inside the main shape of it) selected, to make it a bit bigger (more diecut style) I then went Select > Modify > Expand and I think I ended up expanding it by 20 pixels but i played around with the number until it looked right. I then just make a new layer below the doodle & Edit > Fill the shape with white (I can't remember if i clipped a paper to it then but that's basically it - hope that helps
Fun challenge... thanks! I used Doodles #1, 3, 4, & the dots (the dots are used on the photo in the frame )
I ADORE this challenge! OK, so, I'm going a little crazy. I've been using the full sized mandalas, and then I've also been copying and pasting some of the smaller shapes from within the mandalas, and erasing pieces where they overlap to make a giant layered mandala background. Do I have to be able to separately identify each doodle? It will be easy to tell that there are WAY more than four doodles and that I've worked with them, played with them, admired them, loved them, rotated them, obsessed over them, etc. I've screenshot a bit of my progress so far. Stuff will then be layered over the top of this. Does that fit with the spirit of your challenge?
This is not my best work and I really struggled with putting this layout together. It may look bare and that's because I was sick of looking at it and just threw some elements on it. Maybe someday I'll get inspired to redo it, but right now I just want to move on. Sorry... I used the leaf vine, flower, girl and dots. I added a eucalyptus vine to the leaves.
Hope you can see mine, I covered the background paper with 4 doodles, then clipped a watercolor paper to it, and then tried some filters until it looked cool. My one element is the blue-ish sequin
