2021- Post Covid recovery (weight wise)

oh I have been silently behind the scenes been back ketoing! I lost the 30 I put on over Covid (started 8 September) and am starting this insane 75 day challenge on January 1st:

I for the first time since I blew out my knee on May 1st, got on my bicycle! It was glorious!

I lost 20 this year, but need to lose some more. I've been focusing on my health with exercise and eating... but the holidays have done me in!! My kids have baked a new kind of cookie every single day! Anyway... I'm back on board in January. I did noom last year and will continue with it... it makes sense to my brain. I'm going to try to up my exercise between my virtual workouts with my trainer. And I'm going to continue cooking mainly from the Skinnytaste website and cookbooks (by the time Christmas and my birthday is over, I should pretty much own the whole set of cookbooks!).

I'm with you. I would like to lose the 10 I gained this year but also another 5 if I can as I know it'll be good for my back if I can. Not being able to jog these last 4 months b/c of the back arthritis has derailed me too, as I was burning up more calories and was more fit when jogging. Physio says I'll never jog again b/c it'll be too impactful on my lower back so I need to walk more and adjust my eating for less calories. I'm plant based/vegetarian so I'm happy to cheer everyone on but probably a lot of my recipes won't be of interest to everyone but I'm happy to share.

I'd be interested in more vegetarian dishes as well. =)

I'm giving up all gluten and sugar and soda and junk and cutting wayyyyyyyyyy back on the wine.

I didn't gain during Covid, but I would still like to lose. I'm missing my walks right now, I'm just not a fan of 28 F for walking. Vegas spoiled me on that front!

I lost about 15-20 pounds this year based on the fact I’ve dropped down a dress size (or more to the point gone back to). Hoping 2021 I’m able to be more active and I’ll lose more weight but if better health is my only “gain” next year then that’s ok too.

I've about 15 pounds to loose, but my nutritionist will be happy with 10. I've completely ignored my 1250-calorie-a-day regimen since last summer and I gained back the 6 pounds I had worked for a year to loose. :cry It's a pretty strict schedule with a required vegetable/protein for each meal, but it's what my body needs to function due to my particular health requirements. I really do need to cut out the sugar/chocolate, but that's like taking wine away from other people... :cornfused

I don't need to lose anymore weight. Not even trying I lost over 30 pounds in the last 2 years but I don't recommend doing it the way I did. Not being able to eat a whole lot will do that to you.

I am now down to the weight I was at in 1974 although the body is no longer shaped the same LOL So what I want to do this year once I'm able to eat again and get some strength back is exercise more to tighten up the saggy skin and maybe even gain about 10 pounds.

I'm in! I need to lose about 15-20, or at least firm up some places lol. I spent too much of the last year sitting in front of a computer with virtual/hybrid school and it shows!! I've tried to get back to the gym a time or two, but our numbers keep skyrocketing and it's not a comfortable place to be. I got a standing desk for my birthday in November to use while I'm at work and it's been great, but I need to work on other things as well.

((((hugs)))) I can only wish I were in your situation.....but here's to all the support...UP or DOWN.... <3 I'm all for toning and strength training too

Early in our Australian lock down with being home more than usual I started filling my days by doing baking - cakes and cookies ( biscuits ) so if they are in the house I just cannot resist eating them so I put on 5 kg ( 11 pound).
I desperately would love to lose that amount plus more!!!!

I am getting a weight watchers plan for my birthday :disagree
For the most part, ww will help us get back on track with smarter meals. I will likely stockpile recipes and motivation, then end the program once everything becomes a habit after a few months. I am already back to running 3-4x/week. I want to add strength and cross training slowly. I have a feeling the accountability and food tracking will be the key success factors, and when I leave ww, will have to continue the food tracking on a different app. I also think my husband is looking forward to the meals/recipes I will get on the plan and is pinning his own weight loss goals to my ww success. I think it is equal parts pressure and motivation :faint2

Me. I'm really mad at myself because I lost 34 lbs and was feeling SOOO GOOD!! Then Covid hit, and we got shut down. I stopped caring what I ate (and drank) and gained it all back. I can barely move. My back hurts so badly that I can't walk down my street without pain. My legs feel like I'm carrying 400 lbs. I hate what I look like. I hate what I feel like. I feel like food has me captive.

I got a set of pans for Christmas, and healthy cook books. We are joining Planet Fitness as a family - and I hope I can get control of this demon again.

I didn't gain during Covid, I actually lost a little. I started walking every day and that helped my mental outlook so much. There were only a handful of days that I couldn't walk for some reason or other and I could really tell a difference in my mental outlook. I never had that "endorphin release" until I started walking in earnest. There were days that I just didn't feel like walking and I forced myself and actually felt those endorphins release. I walk up and down big hills since we moved to the country. At first, I could only get a little way up but am now walking almost a mile a day and most of it it up a big hill and back down.
