Random Food Item | Pad Patter 12.10

Funny I was going to mention Skyr but in its natural form.It is very popular in Denmark too. SO i tried it....I Never had it as a desert, and never will I think, because the neutral basic Skyr, though super healthy, tastes to me like I imagine chalk mixed with yogurt would...
 
Well, the latest random food I picked up was gingerbread Oreos which I have to admit were absolutely delicious.
 
I like to try new things....but I'm not a fan of banana flavored anything (except actual bananas)...but I do LOVE Curry Ketchup...yum
 
We made that mistake when we lived in Georgia back in 1994.. I saw Gingerbeer and thought is was a cross between gingeale and rootbeer. For us it was vile! I did not like it but thought maybe my husband would.. he took a sip and I almost took a bath as he was ready to have to spray back out of his mouth, as he too said it was vile LOL
 
I like sauces and randomly select hot sauces off amazon to try. I got one that has peaches and jalapenos in it that I really liked. I also got a good peach salsa at Trader Joes last year but with the pandemic, we can't cross the border but eventually we'll get over there again and if I see it there I'll stock up.
 
I think variety is a good idea in our diet, so even though I'm a creature of habit, I do sometimes curiously pick out things that catch my eye at the grocery store. That's how I tried dragon fruit (not impressed), some snack bars that I continue to buy occasionally, bread from the Wegmans bakery that became somewhat of a weekly thing, chocolate oat milk (yummy but not something I want frequently), and many other things.

I feel your pain! I'm dying for some all-dressed potato chips. And some chocolate. But alas, the dang border!

Hubs loves all dressed chips too. The other thing I'm dying to get is baked cheesies at Trader Joes.I'm going to buy out the store when I can eventually get there again LOL.
 
We buy stuff all the time to try. Our most recent purchases have been at Costco. My daughter found this mother/daughter on TikTok that taste test foods from Costco. Sometimes it is humorous (like when they ate pimento cheese for the very first time) but other times they are right on (merlot cheese - yummy!!).

Whenever we go to the Asian market, we always always come home with strange/different things to try. Although sometimes that does not work out. I like the Basil seed drinks but the one I bought last Sunday was a different brand from the usual and it was gross. I have yet to work up the nerve to try the green pea ice cream bars in the freezer section but I am considering it. The Matcha flavor Kit Kats are good but not everyone at my house likes Matcha. Son loves the squid flavored chips.

Of course, Trader Joe's variety of food is not at all weird in comparison, but we love to try new things from there too.
