October 'tis the season for spooky but is there anything that is not classically scary or associated with a phobia but kind of freaks you out?

My level of scary is pretty much anything beyond Scooby-Doo but a moth i unknowingly brought inside on some washing from the clothesline freaked me right out the other night. It wasn't massive, it wasn't actually on me and i can tell myself logically they are like 'the butterflies of the night' so shouldn't be a big deal but still...

Me too! I have to start with a template or instructions.

Team mascots/costumes scare me. I don't like not knowing who is in there.

Haha - I'm not fond of blank canvases, either. I'm with you, Justine, almost any movie beyond a scary cartoon are off limits to me. My youngest dd LOVES scary movies - the scarier the better.

OMG! There are some bad ones that sporting teams have, that make me think "who said "yeah, we'll accept that"?!" to the costume maker!
I don't know if Graham Norton's UK chat show is shown over there but if you have a spare 5mins (i know, that's a joke in itself sometimes but lock yourself in the hall cupboard or something and search youtube for Graham Norton Show & guess the Football Club from it's mascot - it's from about a week ago - you will cringe but you will shake your head laughing!)

I’m a bit of a scaredy cat about most things but a big one is not being able to have solid ground beneath me (part of it is the fact my balance isn’t the greatest). Being up high is fine for the most part, being on a wobbly suspension bridge is another thing altogether but I did do it. I also won’t go into a swimming pool without being able to touch the floor and I also must be able to have my head above water at all times.

Here’s a layout I did about the one and only time I crossed a suspension bridge

Haha! You girls are funny - my biggest is heights. I know it is totally irrational but it doesn’t matter. I’m okay as long as I am closed in - I did fine on the Empire State Building because we were all caged in. And then I put my lens through the cage to take a better photo and that did me in - had to get back inside fast.

Deep water does the same - also irrational. I float like a beach ball but if there is a lot of space between me and solid ground, I panic.

Movies, I can watch some scary, especially if it is not about stuff that can really happen, but get too much blood, or someone stalking and killing people - nope, nope, nope!

I'm a bit the same with the ocean but it's more than sharks which I think most people would find scary, pools are fine, there's walls and a floor & limits to how far you can drift -the ocean is just mind blowingly huge & deep
