We have a REALLY informal fun book club in the "Reading Pad" here in the forums and we are currently taking suggestions for what to read together next. Check it out here:

https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/suggestions-for-july-oct-2020.71897/

We pick books together and then assign them to a month, but you can read any or all of them whenever you want. Then there will be a thread for each book and you can come back and join the discussion once you've read a book. It's really fun and I've found a lot of great books this way!

I'll have to go back there @Karen as my library has reopened and yesterday, I went and got two holds from back in Dec or Jan! and there's another one available today.

I really am tired of reading on my iPad even though the local library system has upped the volume of available e-books. They also have 4 sites where you might 'get' the book once you select it and I tend to forget where one might be.

I'll have to join back in as I'm a reader again! LOL! There for the longest time I was so distracted by the news and what was going on in the world that I couldn't find the energy to concentrate on a book. But I'm back and have read like 8 books in the past couple of months.

I am terrible at title names, I secretly read the books months after you ladies do. LOL!!!

I love that there's a TLP book club and I've read some good books because they were suggested here. I often forget to check here when I'm deciding on my next book though. I think when the books are announced I'm going to create notifications to remind me like I do for a lot of other things I want to remember.

I've actually been reading a lot this spring. I'm 4 books ahead of schedule on my Goodreads goal! I've just finished all Becky Chambers awesome books. I've got a lot of Audible and ebooks waiting to be read, so I'm all set. My library is very slowly re-opening. I think just this week they're beginning to fill old Hold Requests and offer curbside pick-up. I'm happy to stick with ebooks and audiobooks and books I already own for longer though.

Thanks for running the TLP book club @Karen :love

I finally started a note on my iPhone and keep the list of book club books on there, so I always go check there first when I want to start a new book. Otherwise I was getting behind. Lol.

That's awesome that you're ahead of schedule! I love when I get in a reading groove! My library is slow reopening too. I think they finally started curbside on hold requests on the 15th and they have no plans to reopen normally for awhile still. I think because several of the librarians have pre-existing conditions that would make them more vunerable to covid. I've never been more happy that I like reading and checking out e-books! :agree

Yes, I think the letter from our library said the same thing, about concerns for the librarians' health. I'm fine with it, especially with regard to books. My homeschooled kids used the library weekly as a meeting place, so we miss it for that, but none of us are in a rush to be out in the world in a pandemic. And yes, it's so easy to read nowadays without physical books.

I just started reading The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison. I've only gotten about 5 pages in, but I think I've committed to finishing it. So there's my second suggestion if you're looking for more.
