Can I just say this about buying shoes online, "DON'T DO IT!"
tenor.gif

I bought a pair of shoes from a department store kiosk back in February on the 18th and they still are NOT here! They shipped with FedEx smartpost and after hours on the phone and in online chats, I learned that means USPS does the delivery for FedEx. Well my shoes were supposed to be here on Feb 27, but on Feb 26th there was a shipping exception and the barcode was unreadable. Of course, the shoes didn't come and still aren't here. And since it's past the delivery date there's no updates to the tracking.

No one can tell me where the shoes are or if they'll even get here. The store even had the nerve to email and ask me to wait another 12 days for the package, after their rep had said they would refund me. I said NO WAY! If the said shoes do show up (which I don't think they will), I'll return them to the store. If the United States Post Office has them, then they are lost forever! They are always losing packages and not delivering when they said they have delivered. I needed the shoes last week. I don't even want those shoes anymore, too much of a headache trying to track them down. I just want my store card credited along with the $20 store cash so I can go find a different, cuter pair.

I've never had this problem with this store before, but now I won't be buying anything online anytime soon.

So how about you... do you have good luck with shipping?

Wow What a bummer!! We have had both sides of that fence. When we lived in the upstate, things were ALWAYS getting lost- even money orders- via US Post. Now that we are southeast, we have great deliveries from all over, even internationally. I think a lot has to do with the person in charge, unfortunately!

This side of the pond things go missing so often that Amazon just tells us they don't ship to our country.
My Dad sent a Christmas card on the 11th of December by priority mail and we got it two days ago.
It didn't have money in it, am sure those kinds just don't arrive at all.
Hang in there Kayla and I hope you'll get sorted out.

oh no, that's horrible!!
well, here in Brazil things are very complicated, it's a huge country...in my city, as I live near to São Paulo, I don't have problems and the shipping costs are low. Once I ordered from Amazon (the Brazilian one) and the next day the books were here.
but there are places near here that not even the post office delivers stuff due to robbery.

I've been lucky (knocking on wood). I can only remember one problem with shipping. I ordered a Harry Potter Lego kit for Christmas several years ago and it never arrived. When I contacted them to ask about it they said, oops, sorry, and sorry again, it's now out of stock. :(

I hope they give you a refund!

Well. Let me tell you. I bought shoes from dsw using my birthday coupon that they send for being a member. The shoes were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days and they took over a week to get to me. When I got finally got them they were scuffed and had been worn!!!! Like seriously worn. Bottom of the shoes were even dirty. Somehow dsw didn’t see why I was so upset. They told me that that was not unusual and that I needed to put in the comments that I wanted the shoes a certain way I order for them not to have been preworn. Wouldn’t that make them used shoes?!? So then I posted on their Facebook and Twitter. Within minutes I had customer service reps offering to send me a new pair. Maybe you need to do that. I was so mad that my birthday shoes ended up being such a hassle

Things have actually been okay lately. Unless... it's heavy and being delivered by USPS. Then they'll just mark it "unable to access delivery area" for days. It will eventually show up... just never within the promised window. I did write my congressman about it, a rep from his office called me two days later and the next day my packages showed up... but I think that was coincidence.

Lately I've had two delays with Amazon Prime Same Day... but I try to not get worked up about that one since being able to order something in the morning and get it that afternoon is a bit crazy in the first place. But that being said, don't promise it if you can't deliver.

But I'm with you with the not wanting the item anymore. The reason I order most of the time is that I need it before I would be able to go get it myself, so if it's not there within the promised window, I would have been better off getting it myself.

These days the USPS is actually good for me. FedEx is the problem around here. I don't like SmartPost. It can be either FedEx or UPS handing off to the post office. I'd rather the original carrier make the delivery.

Back in January I had a delivery coming by FedEx. This is a monthly delivery that normally comes by UPS but since I added laundry detergent that is heavier, it was sent by FedEx. I kept watching it online for delivery information. Scheduled delivery was on Thursday. No delivery attempt was even made. Rescheduled delivery for Friday. Never got it and tracking at this point has absolutely no information on the package. No rescheduled delivery date either. It just appeared that they had no idea where the package was.

I emailed the customer service department to tell them what happened and how disappointed I was with FedEx. This wasn't the first time I've had problems with them. They come out of a distribution center 90 minutes from us. UPS has a distribution center 10 minutes from us. The company has flagged my account to no longer ship FedEx if over a certain weight but to ship UPS instead.

A neighbor came over on Saturday and we were out on the porch and there was nothing there. On Sunday evening I took my garbage to the end of the driveway for Monday a.m. pickup and saw the package sitting on my porch. Tracking was never updated as to when it was delivered. Had to be Saturday after 3 pm or sometime Sunday.

When it comes down to it, all delivery services have their problems. My area tends to be FedEx. USPS has gotten better so we must have a new postmaster! UPS has never been a problem for me.

So sorry about the shoes! What a pain! I hate it when they do the hand-off thing...too much room for error. If you have it, just deliver it!

I would be upset if I got damaged shoes too... really, you have to tell them you want NEW SHOES! I would never buy from them again.

I would be okay if the package was delayed a bit and they were upfront about it with me, but to give me the run around two different times and not refund my money like they said they would in the first place. The Cowards, emailing me a few days later asking me to give them more time. They wanted me to wait until the 12th for the package to come when no one even knows where the package even is!

The package was first shipped on Feb 18th. If I waited until the 12th that would be almost a month for a pair of shoes, that should only take 3-5 days at most to get here. The more I think of it the more upset I become. If they would just stock their stores better, I could have gotten them there. I ordered from the kiosk in the store. I even asked an employee to check nearby stores and they didn't have them either.

Now they've said they are resending my order with a different carrier, but can't guarantee it won't be with FedEx or USPS. I should get the shoes between May 8th and 13th. That's still almost a month for a pair of shoes... really. I should have looked on amazon. If the shoes don't show up this time, I'm gonna blast all of them on social media. I can't believe they're being such stinkers about this.

I have been lucky in general, but we rarely buy shoes or clothing online, we do more shopping for kitchen stuff or bots & pieces.... I don't trust sizing when buying online, and shoes ...I need to have a shoe rise done so I need to make 100% sure the shoe is the right fit, that can only be done by shopping in store.... but have bought Hunter boots and a pair of Reeboks for Sarita and they were OK... we have Amazon Prime and the delivery is great here, but then again, is London..... so not that difficult to get stuff shipped... still, I would much rather shop in store if I am able to get out.....

I'm with you on rather buying clothing and shoes in the store so I can get the right fit. I tried the shoes on in the store but needed a different color to go with a dress I bought at a different store that day. I really want to wear the dress but can't until I get shoes that match. Every time I see the dress in my closet, I cringe because I can't wear it because my shoes haven't arrived yet. I know first world problems... we really are spoiled.

oh god, where do I start - I have had problems with every courier company that is used here at least once to the point, if I have a choice I’d rather use one particular company and get it delivered to a click and collect location at a local grocery store to save the hassle and muck ups that usually occur

I feel your pain. When I ordered my photo books at Shutterfly I had no problem with their delivery BUT I also took advantage of a free 5x7 easel canvas at the same time. The tracking showed it was to be delivered yesterday but later in the day that changed to "Ready To Go". Then today the tracking showed that it had been delivered. When we got home it was nowhere to be found! On their website it suggests that you check your front porch, side door, back porch, garage area, bushes and mailbox to make sure it's not jammed. Then if you haven't had any luck with the "hide and seek" after three days you can contact them! WHAT!!! We checked everywhere, even the golf card. No package! The next time I order from Shutterfly I will make sure that they are not using the Mail Innovations process for shipping!

Sorry you're having these troubles. I stopped ordering shoes online - Amazon Prime - maybe - but they never seem to work out for me.

LOL I know!!!!!!!! but I am with you on that feeling, I am OCD with clothes and shoes and purses and accessories... I have to have the right combination, the colors have to fit, and when I can't find the right piece, be that shoes or purse or accessories... it drives me nuts too!!!!
I bought a purse and a cardigan in a charity shop (thrift? like good will kind) the color is a dull yellow, like mustard.... I bought them so very cheap, because I had seen the shoes to go in the same color in a store three blocks away... when I finally got the money for the shoes (I think it was a week later) ...they had run out of my size... I haven't work the cardigan or the purse since, because finding that color shoes is almost impossible.....so, yes, I do know the feeling...!!!!! I feel less guilty because from time to time we make a clear up of clothes with Sarita and give them to the charity shops.... but yes, 1st world problems indeed.... LOL
Hope you get them soon , Kayla!!!!!!

I have just been arguing with a courier company. They tried to deliver a package, I wasn't home so they left a note saying to pick it up next business day - only leaving the name of the suburb I should get it from - no address. Fun. After some googling, I went 24hours later only for the shop to say they hadn't received my parcel but they would ring me when it arrived. Another 24 hours they rang to say it wasn't there still. Finally got an email from the couriers to say it was in a different shop in a different suburb (nope nowhere near where I loved). So it had been travelling around Canberra in the back of a courier van for at least 3 days...
So when they asked for feedback, I gave it to them, very politely - they got back to me, very patronizing, explaining how the whole courier system worked (leave note, you come and pick it up - like I hadn't got that bit) and then said it was my fault for a) not being home and b) not 'proactively' checking my email instead of relying on the note the courier left.
I saw red - esp the proactively bit, wrote a very sarcastic reply and had them grovelling. But still took way too much of my time and energy.

Good luck Kayla, hopefully they arrive soon!

So sorry for your shopping woes. I haven't had any problems other than delayed shipping but things eventually get here. In Canada it can take forever to get a delivery so we kind of expect it. My daughter does a lot more online shopping and she's had a lot of problems with lost product, wrong product, etc. She's feisty and digs her heels in and fights them so somehow she always ends up with extra credits, freebies, etc so it's worth it for her. Me....sounds like too much trouble.
