I'm working on an art piece for February's challenge that includes a poem I wrote - and the poem contains a cuss word (not any of the f ones, surprisingly enough ). I'm guessing I should blur the word on the upload, and asterisk it in the description, but shouldn't I be a do-bee and ask first? So, what's the policy for vulgar words in journaling?
hello! well, I just saw your post, and even if I'm not from the staff, I thought I could just post this link for you, with the Lilypad guidelines, so you can see if it's helpful! https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/forum-gallery-and-signature-rules.18812/ I'm sure some of the Pollys will help you asap!
Hi Brenda! Thanks for asking about this! We try to keep the forums and gallery relatively family-oriented. We do have some semi-active users and posters that are under the age of 18, so "family friendly" is where we like to lean. Having said that, you can use your judgment. If the word isn't in bold, big letters and isn't something that jumps out and bites you in the nose, it's probably okay to have on your page. If you are in doubt, you can post it and tag me or Laura (@lmccandless) and we can make a determination on a case-by-case basis.
Awesome, thanks so much. It's not big or a stand-out but I'll go ahead and blur/censor anyway, just to be safe.
This is what I usually do, just in case little eyes are looking. I have a weather app that I love to screenshot and share on my PL pages, but it's super inappropriate sometimes, which makes me giggle, but I know not everyone appreciates it the same way I do .
i always subscribe to the idea 'if in doubt, ask' so i'm glad to see you asked and that you also got an answer!
They are pretty great! I know my kids will look back on my uncensored pages when I'm gone and say "Yep, that's mom"
My hubby has that What the Forecast app and will randomly arrive in my office (we work together) laughing about a new funny one. There were some real gems a couple weeks ago when we had that polar vortex. And now I'm off to check out your poem @blueberries
Thanks Jan @IntenseMagic I never heard of this one! Downloaded and this is what I was shown for my weather tee hee
I’d always wondered what the app was - one of my friends shares screenshots of the weather from it on facebook all the time
Ok y'all talked about it enough that I had to dl the app. Good choice - and I'm dyin' to find out what they'll come up with for high summer in Florida :-D
