Hi I've played with an extraction for a page, and I'm not totally happy with how TJ's hair came out. I was wondering if anyone has any tips on managing mops of messy hair like this. How do/would you approach it? I use old software either the Cutout Studio in Craft Artist, or an even older version of Photoplus (predecessor to Affinity)
Can you post the original picture? I'm not at home, but maybe someone could give it a whirl for you? Or tell you how you might be able to improve it - though I'm not sure who uses that besides @MrsPeel (I think!). I don't know CA, but have an old tutorial for Photoshop if needed. (Just in case - it's here... and super old... eeek, 2011! I was only scrapping a year, so there are probably better ways to extract in PS, or easier ways. This worked at the time.)
Great, Angela! I'm not at home, so I'm going to try to tag a couple peeps that might be able to help now. @cfile @Iowan Maybe @bestcee later. Or, I can try later tonight myself. (I have a Wizards basketball game until 9pm ET though).
Unfortunately I do not have the same software.. I think Vivi @Nemla ws trying to help Angela with it. I can try extracting but not sure how it will turn out.
@jk703 @Angela Toucan Here is the extraction I did for you in PS... I used the extraction and masking tool. I wish I could explain on your software for you. I hope this will be ok for you. (I had to make it sm View attachment 325082 aller as the size was too big to upload) jut erase the little bit of the snudge.. I didn't see that.. sorry.. hope this helps.
Glad Christa could get it for you! I had it done, and then PS crashed before I could save. This one (above) looks great!!
Nice work Christa. Angela, I tried both Alfa and vector edged extraction options, none came as good as Christas..
hey girls, apologies only saw this now, falling asleep at the weirdest of times... @Angela Toucan hair is always a problem.... If you are using Affinity...have you ever tried the Serif Forums? People there are really helpful, they helped me when I was having trouble with Craft Artist, and I went to post when the Affinity was released to find out more about it and they were really great... now, if you have someone like Christa making an extraction for you.....is awesome!!!!!!! Hope all is well
what I do for messy curly or sprouts (grandaughter's hair) I use a brush (hair) and I add the color around their head. add a layer and paint some hair around the extraction.
@Angela Toucan i just found this video where he worked a magic touch on hair. I wonder if it would work.
