Just checking on the elf finding status... I have "hidden" things from myself many a time - like the door knob that fell off a cabinet that has been missing for 10 years or so. I think it is gone.

NOTHING!!! I do have a clean pantry, and a semi-clean closet! OMG, she left so down this morning.
 
I hope you find him. I used to "hide" things I took down so I could up Christmas decorations. After it taking a day to find the usual soap dispenser, I finally figured out to put the regular stuff in the empty Christmas totes. Then they are there to replace when I pack up the Christmas stuff. Sigh -- took me years to figure that one out.
 
First- YES! Pray to saint Anthony- he is awesome! (Saint Anthony, Saint Anthony, please come around- my little elf is lost and cant be found)- I swear -EVERY TIME it works! (I found a gold bracelet lost on a black Diamond Ski trail after losing it!)

Second- maybe type up a note in teeeennny font (get a magnifying glass) explaining how he had to rush off and help someone. Maybe get a map and pinpoint his travels- or you could say he graduated/ got promoted to Christmas Eve Elf- or Elf of the Kids with hard Christmases. You could join in on the good deeds- comparing notes of how you helped him help others- (with little RAKS) You could send "sELFies" as proof and maybe ask if your family would like to adopt a new elf that needs a good home- you got this! :beat Keep us updated!
 
Man...I was hoping to find a good outcome by the end of the thread. I sure hope you find him soon!
 
So sorry Dalis. Is he the normal Elf on The Shelf? Could you get another one and make up some grandiose story about how his bff heard he was MIA and came to visit? I'm kind of taking off on where Renne @ForeverJoy was going.
 
He is not, he is a weird elf before elf on the shelf was a thing. I have officially been looking for it for 7 hrs straight my back hurts so much right now and NOTHING!!!!!! I want to cry now, how can I have lost him!?!?!?!?!?

Is it Elf Magic by any chance? We started our elf adventures before Elf on the Shelf really became a thing and so ours is different too. My girls' elf does various "magical", playful little things throughout the season minus the whole "I'm watching you and reporting to Santa" element. And it, of course, looks different from the typical elf on the shelf too.

check.. do you have any empty cannisters? I have a set yet do not keep sugar or flour or anything in them. one has t bags, another has miscellaneous things... perhaps look in one of those.. also check the boxes you put away last year of your decorations... check the last box as you may have forgotten and then packed him as the last thing last year.

Oh I am still praying that Chiney shows up... Please keep us updated and make sure when you find him you take a picture letting us know. I hope you find him.. Has your husband seen Chiney?
 
Jumping on the missing elf bandwagon. I swear by St. Anthony. Praying & hoping that Chiney will be found.
 
This is him, he is supposed to be a door hanger and his legs are all spirals. He is like 10 years old! My in-laws friends say she saw them last year in Walmart, so I might go and try.

To piggyback on Courtney's (@bestcee)... could you sort of "Flat Stanley" him? You could probably set up a new email address for him and have him email his adventures to her each day while you continue to look? Maybe family could help with photos to attach to the emails... like "Today I got to visit (insert name of relative here) and see their tree" and attach a photo. I know with Flat Stanley he's usually in the photo, but you can just say that Chiney is taking the photos. Just a thought! Or if you don't want to do just family, I'm sure there are a lot of us who would volunteer a Christmas photo or two from their area, to help with his adventures!

Love that idea too. I am taking a break from looking for him because my back is killing me.

Oh no, I hope you find him. I know I would go crazy looking too! Anything to keep the Christmas spirit alive. Keep us updated!
