Hey all! I have to admit, this is my very first time committing to DYD. I got some adorable little 3.5" x 5.5"notebooks & put down my foundation pages. I scrapped a small page for each each day until Christmas, leaving the other side blank (mostly) for handwritten notes. I used Vinnie's Krafty Christmas Collection here. I had in mind to do all sorts of paper piecing, then noticed something quite amazing. Our designers are so awesome that the images truly lift off the page. I used Fiddle-Dee-Dee's Shadows {Dressed Up} on all my pages. On the left side, I used Becca Bonneville's adorable critters & Heather's Sugar Cookies Alpha. On the right (purposely shown at a wonky angle to see dimensions), I used Cheryl's Baubles & Bella Gypsy's Happiest Season of All to piece together that awesome ornament. But look! Both pages are dynamic! It's fun to have the texture of paper piecing, but really, both looks are stunning. Setting up your book like this is great to work as you go along. But, let's be real here, December's a chaotic month. One might miss an entry or just not have much to say. That's where the fluff comes in! I had a lot of fun with Heather's Christmas Doodles. They were easy to cut & easy to piece together. I wanted that little bird to have a fuzzy wing. With a flick of the magic wand & Mommyish's DYD Style Bundle, I now have a fuzzy winged bird. He is paper pieced & I think I'll call him Simon. There are so many things to have fun with! Save a piece of the tree in your book or a ribbon from a special gift. I truly hope you have as much fun as I did putting an album together. I'd love to see what you come up with, post it here! Make it a December to Remember!!!
This is great, I libe all the different sets of numbers you used. Also love what you did with the bird, I may have to try that on those same amazing Christmas doodles by Heather!
Super cute little project - and doesn't seem stressful at all. Love it ... and love the playful colors!
Adorable! I love them. I saw cute little frames at michaels too that would fit these like the countdown idea too! Nice work, Jess!
Great idea!!! I love the cards Becca did and am trying to come up with a project to use them for. I like what you did.... hmmmmm
@IntenseMagic I swear that felt style looks so real. Leah is amazing! @jk703 I love what you did with your cards. I didn't even think of having them printed. I tried all sorts of papers & like photo paper the best. I also discovered I hate purple glue sticks! @Mrivas Heather's creations are awesome!
What a happy book! I'm so glad you posted all of your pages. It will be fun for you to journal as you go. Thanks for sharing your process.
