It's been awhile since I've done a Fast Five! But on a Monday morning when I wake up feeling behind? It's a great way to start the day! Today's theme is communication. I know some of them might depend on the news, so if you are over-analyzing like I do, feel free to pick the one you do mostly. We all know (ok, hope) that major events for most people (wedding, funeral, birth) will be a phone call. 1. Text or Call? 2. Over the Phone or in Person? 3. Video Chat or Normal Phone Call? 4. Cell Phone or Landline? 5. Smartphone or "Dumb" Phone (also known as Data or no data capabilities on your cellphone)? Bonus: Favorite Communicating App?
1. Text or Call? I'm fine with either but I do mostly text because that's how most people communicate with me. 2. Over the Phone or in Person? Depends on what it is about and who it involves....hahaha 3. Video Chat or Normal Phone Call? Phone call 4. Cell Phone or Landline? Cell...we don't even use a landline anymore 5. Smartphone or "Dumb" Phone (also known as Data or no data capabilities on your cellphone)? Smart...I'll never go back Bonus: Favorite Communicating App? IDK.....just my phone is fine.
1. Text or Call? Text me... I hate talking on the phone. 2. Over the Phone or in Person? If it's unable to be texted, I'd rather in person. 3. Video Chat or Normal Phone Call? I guess Video.... 4. Cell Phone or Landline? Cell. Land line is only on our bill so it's a bundle and cheaper. 5. Smartphone or "Dumb" Phone (also known as Data or no data capabilities on your cellphone)? Smart... Is there anyone who has a smart phone that goes back willingly? Bonus: Favorite Communicating App? Apple Messages? Don't call me.
1. Text or Call? TEXT 2. Over the Phone or in Person? In person 3. Video Chat or Normal Phone Call? I actually prefer normal phone calls cuz I can multitask lol 4. Cell Phone or Landline? landline so I can hold it between my ear and shoulder easily! But like Jenn, we only have a landline because it's cheaper to bundle our cable/Internet with the landline. 5. Smartphone or "Dumb" Phone (also known as Data or no data capabilities on your cellphone)?Smart phone but I wouldn't mind going back to a boring "all it can do is actually make phone calls" phone. Bonus: Favorite Communicating App? Hmm. Can we count TLP as a "communicating app"?
1. Text or Call? Text 2. Over the Phone or in Person? In Person 3. Video Chat or Normal Phone Call? Normal Phone Call 4. Cell Phone or Landline? I don't understand the question. I have both? 5. Smartphone or "Dumb" Phone (also known as Data or no data capabilities on your cellphone)? Smart Phone Bonus: Favorite Communicating App? Still looking. We do a lot of IM/Skype here at work, even when the desks are not far away. Some of us prefer to walk over to people's desks and talk face to face (I'm one of them) but it's harder to do now because a lot of people work remotely. (Both onsite and off site.) I've never done a video call and have no intention of trying it, if I can avoid it. When I Skype into meetings, I turn off the video, cover my camera, mute my phone and hope that no one asks me a question. LOL I have a landline as my number to give out -- appointments, rewards, etc -- so that I don't get those calls on my cell phone. Very few people have my cell phone number -- just family for calling and friends that want to text me. It is not a "real" landline but is instead a (now discontinued) device on my cellphone plan; it is a box that plugs into my home lines but uses my cellphone service. I've had a smart phone for almost as long as they have been available. Not an iPhone -- I started with a Samsung Instinct, whose email and internet were much, much worse than anticipated. I upgraded my phone two more times when the Android OS came out (Samsung Moment and Samsung Epic 4G -- the original Galaxy S) before finally landing on the iPhone 5 when they became available for Sprint. I haven't found any great communications apps, but I'm constantly looking.
1. Text or Call? Call 2. Over the Phone or in Person? either 3. Video Chat or Normal Phone Call? normal 4. Cell Phone or Landline? both, depends who i’m talking to really 5.Smartphone or "Dumb" Phone (also known as Data or no data capabilities on your cellphone)? smart phone
1. Text or Call? Text for the most part. I really only have one friend that actually calls and my mom. 2. Over the Phone or in Person? In person!! I always prefer face to face. 3. Video Chat or Normal Phone Call? Normal phone call. Don't want to scare anyone with the way I look most of the time at home lol 4. Cell Phone or Landline? Haven't had a landline for 14 years or so. 5. Smartphone or "Dumb" Phone (also known as Data or no data capabilities on your cellphone)? Smartphone Bonus: Favorite Communicating App? With my kids, Snap Chat because that's pretty much all they use lol Most everyone else is just texting.
1. Text or Call? I make vastly more texts than calls. Even before texting was a thing I didn't like making calls. The only person I talk with over the phone for any length of time is my husband. My dad called me today, but that happens only once or twice a year. I may actually have longer phone calls with strangers, like for tech support. But I've found some tech support via live chat available, and that is awesome! 2. Over the Phone or in Person? Between these two I prefer in person. If the choice had been between texting or in person, I'm perfectly happy to text my kids from another room. For example, a little while ago I sent my daughter a photo of the food I had just cooked to summon her down to dinner. 3. Video Chat or Normal Phone Call? Video chats are fun but I rarely have the chance, so phone calls are more common. On a daily basis, I'd prefer a phone call between these two. Video chats seem like special occasions. With phone calls it doesn't matter how I look or if my house is messy. 4. Cell Phone or Landline? Does anyone prefer landlines today??? I finally got rid of ours about a year ago and wanted to for a few years prior to that! 5. Smartphone or "Dumb" Phone (also known as Data or no data capabilities on your cellphone)? Definitely a smart phone. I love being able to do so many things with my phone. I think these devices should have a better name! Bonus: Favorite Communicating App? I mostly just use the basic texting app that comes with the iPhone. But I have also used Skype, although not recently, and I use FB Messenger with people for whom I have no phone number or who I've only met online. And this year, my homeschool co-op decided to try using Discord for communication instead of the FB group. Not much communication is happening online anymore. It's hard to remember to check yet another app.
1. Text or Call? Depends on who it is 2. Over the Phone or in Person? Again, depends on who it is and what it's about 3. Video Chat or Normal Phone Call? Normal phone call 4. Cell Phone or Landline? We don't have a landline 5. Smartphone or "Dumb" Phone (also known as Data or no data capabilities on your cellphone)? Smart phone Bonus: Favorite Communicating App? Instagram
1. call 2. in Person 3. Normal Phone Call 4. Landline 5. Basic Phone 6. favourite communication app - the good old fashioned pen and paper.
Which do you prefer? But I'm guessing based on the below: Cell Phone. That's cool! You are a unicorn I think! Yes! Especially if they mumble. I adore live chat. It's my favorite - plus it's in writing so no arguing! Do you like it? My Homeschool group is moving off Facebook (Hallelujah!) and looking for what to move to.

1. Text or Call? Text all the way unless it's a longer convo- I hate typing out paragraphs on my phone! 2. Over the Phone or in Person? Phone 3. Video Chat or Normal Phone Call? phone so that I can do other stuff at the same time without the other person knowing! 4. Cell Phone or Landline? We have a landline only because we are in a gated community & the gate doesn't call long distance or some bs. I think it's our HOA that just wants everyone to have a landline. The only other person that calls that number is my hubby's grandma. Ha! 5. Smartphone or "Dumb" Phone (also known as Data or no data capabilities on your cellphone)? smart- although I kinda like leaving it in the car or at home sometimes when I'm out & about!
