Can you see the pictures? hmmm...
I saw this curly hair woman on the side of youtube, and watched an hour of her videos.
Curly Susie

before: the hot and dry desert I live in, just takes my curls away, along with the stubborn gray! lol

just washed with conditioner Suave coconut, then add a gel in the shower.

a plop in my hubby's tshirt (no towel)
then viola (air dry) and I have soft curls again!!

Have any of you all tried this, or heard of it. I admit, I live under a rock sometimes...but I am so excited!

Yea for co-washing and yea for curly girl! I've had to add a little shampoo back into my hair care routine since cutting it short, but I try to avoid it on my long "bangs."

There's a book, too. Curly Girl: The Handbook.

One thing I read for any hair type is not to wrap a towel around your head but to be much more gentle. Just kind of blot with a towel (or in our Curly Girl case, a tee shirt like you mentioned). I wish I had the patience to do that, but I wrap my hair so I can quickly towel off the rest of myself and then style my hair.

ohhh I like your curls!! There is this brand Suave here in Brazil, it's reccomended for low-poo hair wash...in fact, when I use any shampoo/cond for low poo, my hair tends to create curls, even if it's not naturally curled....I don't know why!!

I haven't heard of that one, but my hair dresser just suggested a new product to me called DevaCurl and I've been loving it! I'll have to check yours out next too. I'm always looking for something to hold my curl in without being crunchy and also taming my gray frizzies too. (shhh... I have a lot of gray these days).

they are the ones that made DevaCurl! lol
I am just learning, but it is fun

and @Tree City I thought of your gorgeous curls and @BevG

@Karen the gel is applied in shower...then hair plopped in tshirt...dry with difuser low or no heat or air dry...then scrunch the crunch out of the hair. it is fun and love the end results...
there are some other video where more conditioner (leave in) and then gel...gonna try that tomorrow...lol shows NO frizz......but I'm afraid it will be a magnet for dirt?

I better try this. Any hints for hair loss. I am afraid I am going to be bold soon!

I've heard of the t-shirt, but have never tried it. Lately I've been running detangler milk (Pantente) through it. Then I put it in a bun & spray curl hairspray (Aussie), & go. I'll see if I can get a pic.

**Update**
I can make it curlier, but I like the waves from the bun. My last 2 avatars have shown my curlier hair. This is what the bun method does.

@AnneofAlamo your hair looks good.
I am going to a different hairdresser who just loves cutting my curly hair. She is trying to help me get my curls back to be more curly again.
I will be washing my hair today and will not wrap it in a towel like I normally do and see if it comes out better.

Yessss girl. I could chit chat curls all day long. Not ME but I have 3 (THREE) curly boys! My facebook is super duper locked down but pretty much any layout I made from photos after 2013 is going to be curls for days.

We had to drop Tresemme due to itchy Ms making my oldest itch like mad. Our new routine is this:

Salon Care conditioner (the big gallon jug from Sally's) to cowash.
GVP conditioning balm (also Sally's) to condition. I rinse the scalp quickly and scrunch the curls so this isn't totally washed out.
Kinky Curly Knot Today. I finger comb this through and then squish squish squish those curls in.
ECO olive oil styling gel. Squish this in too.

Then we plop in microfiber turban style hair towels for about 30 minutes. The rest is air dry. If the curls are crunchy I spray a mixture of water and conditioning balm (I keep this in a spray bottle for refreshes) into my hand and scrunch out the crunch. 10 minutes later everything will be completely destroyed by sitting in car seats and we start over again.

I love your curls! My daughter has beautiful long curly hair -- but she didn't get it from me!

Your hair looks amazing, Anne! Curly hair here, too. I'm definitely going to try this. The less I do to mine, the curlier it gets. I prefer letting it air dry when I have the time, but would love a quicker way to do it and still have the curls. Thanks for the info.

I am curly hair girl too. I've tried a bunch of different products lately including DevaCurl. I wanted to love it but it made me feel greasy. Right now, I am trying Biolage RAW Nourish.

I definitely second the tshirt method! Cuts down on the frizz!

I may be dense but I'm not sure what you mean by this @AnneofAlamo "then hair plopped in t-shirt.". I mean my hair is short so I just let it dry a bit - having scrunched the majority of water out of it with a microfibre wrap from the $store. When it's half or more dry, I then put a small dollop of Panetene or Bodysilk through it and squeeze some curl into it.

I did find this summer that my hair got dirtier faster which I blame on dirtier air and the f'in humidity. My hair felt as if it had just pulled the stuff in/on it. It's been a yucky feeling some days, my hair I mean feeling yucky. I just felt hot.

AND are you saying you 'wash' with a conditioner? I obviously have been under a rock...

I will move a bit,and bring a pillow for the rock..bhahaha
having scrunched the majority of water out of it with a microfibre wrap
yes, micorfibre works too....my hair is longer and I just flop it into a tshirt, wrap it and wait 10 minutes.
'wash' with a conditioner?
yes! just like it was shampoo..just no fingernails, just a scrub..then rinse with cool water.
but it can't have alcohol, and some other things, lol use this:

then in the shower, put the gel in and scrunch your hair:

if you get too much in , then it will be crunchy, but you can scrunch it out...and the curls remain
it is amazing!
