Fri-yay | Pad Patter 8.24

...first HS football game of season. To be more exact, half time and the band. I'll get all my pictures in tonight and not take my camera the rest of the season. Woot! Then first cross country meet of the season tomorrow morning. I don't know if people go watch these meets, but I'm going to go and see.
Hooray for marching band! My youngest graduated last year, so I am missing the band kids coming over. Looking forward to being an "alumni" parent, but so glad we can wait to go to a game till it cools off a bit here in Phoenix!

We're headed there for the weekend! Daughter & I are going to the Ed Sheeran concert Saturday night & then we are going to be tourists again (kids don't remember Seattle much- even though I grew up just a bit south & have 'been there/done that') ;) Crossing fingers for better air than here in Spokane- we've been in Hazardous air conditions for a week or two!

And... tomorrow is our 12th wedding anniversary so we're going to celebrate while we're in Seattle!
Happy anniversary and good luck on the weather. Actually I was hoping for a cleansing rain.

We are headed to the World Famous Deming Duck Races!

This is my first time! It is a 2 hour drive to a tiny town. I can not wait!
world famous and yet i haven't heard of it?! it sounds awesome though but that guy in yellow in the middle with the sunnies on looks rather unimpressed or maybe he is the duck athletes body guard?! anyhoo i am looking forward to hearing about your experience!

Sunday afternoon when our departmental retreat is over and I can grab a little relaxation before the next week starts up!
Non-yay for non-paid weekend work!
i can't click like for a non-yay non-paid work weekend! is there anything good about your retreat? are you at a lush hotel with a fancy lunch or anything?!

Well....I can bring my knitting and hang out in the evening watching Law and Order! So there's that!

The housecleaners just left so I have a clean house for the weekend!! I'm looking forward to finishing my big scrapping organizational project. I signed up for the September Pocket Letters and it forced me to get my paper stuff organized. I started moving my stuff from the bedroom that used to be my scraproom and is now my dd's room into a huge walk-in closet. It took me all of last week, but I'm nearly done. With a lot of reorganizing and utilizing vertical space, it's working out nicely. Side benefit, I found some things that I'm going to try to sell.
oh yep, i have done this paper organisation recently myself - took me the better part of a month so u have managed it super fast and yay for your side benefit!

Chilling out with Hubby :) It has been a long week.. had Jury Duty 2 days all day we came to a guilty verdict and sentencing in a criminal case and I have been wiped out ever since. Tired plus now I feel like I am catching something so chilling this weekend sounds delightful!!!!
i've never actually made it to court for jury duty - always rung the night before and been told the case was pushed or dismissed or something so i cant imagine 2 days worth but sending sympathy re: catching something - waking up with a full blown cold was not in my weekend plans

Getting things back to normal! My husband had to have an emergency surgery the day before we were to leave on vacation last weekend. I've been slowly coming out of that funk (mourning my vacation!!) and expect that our normal routine will eventually take over. He is moving slow, but certainly on the mend.
oh no! sorry to hear about this (both the surgery and lack of vacation!) i'm sure the surgery was essential and it was better to find out it was needed before you left but i hope you can find some time to take the vacation when he is mended fully (and that they refunded at least some of your booking!)

sounds wonderful everything down to escaping the air and happy anniversary! ours was the other week and honestly i forgot til mum mentioned it the day before, but everyone else was sick and we dont do much anyway - it's sandwiched between DD's birthday and Fathers Day, which is next wkend for us and i've been knee-deep in fathers day stall stuff for school for the last 2 weeks, so i blame all of that for making me forget!

Husband, daughter and I are headed out for a hike along the hudson. It's straight up and a large part of the hike is just rocks - like no path at all. Hopefully I make it to the top. This was a favorite spot for my son, so we want to take some photos to send to him at bootcamp. Then we are chilling poolside. Tomorrow I have to clean the house.

i hope you made it given it's for such a special reason !( sounds like it should have a gorgeous view but too vertical for me, i'm lacking the mountain goat gene that some hikers seem to have) Enjoy the pool and sympathy on the cleaning - tomorrow the animal welfare group DD's part of is having a fundraising cupcake day at school so the kitchen is now a mess with a a backlog of washing for tomorrow - i don't know what the opposite of fri-yay is for monday but it's looking like mon-ugh!

Thanks. We did! so many beautiful views! One spot we hiked to you are sup'd to be able to see NYC - but it wasn't quite clear enough today. We ended up doing 8.2 miles - and climbing 184 floors according to my apple app. It hurts just as much to come down those rocky steep trails as it does to go up. My knees!!! ouch. Not sure how much cleaning I will get done today LOL!
