It's interesting that my dh was much more amenable to the getting of a will while he was so against writing out all our password information in a digital or paper format. Trust me, I truly doubt anyone breaking into this house would find such a paper in all my current bins of paper...sigh.
We have 6 children between us, and while we asked them to tell us NOW what they would like of ours the only thing my 3 wanted was the same thing...a ebony chair from Malawi which looks odd but is really comfortable. My former husband has that and #1 child asked first so we'll see what happens when that husband dies. Otherwise, my 2nd son (the chef) will get most of my kitchen stuff...he's already put in for the knives and cookbooks...and I know my daughter will take anything! My #1 son's wife wants nothing. While not a minimalist she is not sentimental and usually pitches anything she didn't buy herself. Dick's 3 have claimed nothing. Unless we decide otherwise later, any financial assets will be divided 6 ways. Plain and simple.
