It's teacher appreciation week at our school and I'm on the committee. Not good timing with iNSD this week, but I didn't have a choice. We are doing a Harry Potter theme and it's turning out wand-erful!
We are doing something special each day.
We made wanted posters for all the teachers and staff and put them up last Friday so they would have them this morning at the Hogwarts Express Breakfast.
We had the kids do notes for their teachers and we're delivering them on Tuesday by owl post (owl balloon with the notes attached). We are also doing a Honeydukes Candy shop in the teacher's lounge that day.
Wednesday we are giving the teachers cozy socks and a laundry basket to collect all the treats their students bring them.
Thursday we are giving them pretzel wands and Scholastic Dollars gift cards.
And on Friday we are doing a Great Hall luncheon. I'm projecting the Great Hall scene on the wall and we'll line up the tables like in the Great Hall and have floating candles and other HP-ish decorations. It's a lot of work, but we want our teachers and staff to know how much we appreciate them. Plus, it's been fun working with the other moms to come up with all the HP ideas.
How about you? Does your school go all out for teacher appreciation? Have you helped with teacher appreciation week? Do your kids love doing teacher appreciation activities and giving their teacher thank you notes and/or gifts?

TBH, this year I just gave money for the gift cards the PTA buys every teacher. I do little things throughout the year for the teachers (even if it's just buying Purell or Kleenex lol!) and I volunteer in DS's class once a week...maybe that lets me feel like I have an excuse to just throw money at the PTA lol! They do a great job making sure all of the teachers/staff are taken care of.
Usually just with words, but that's fine with me.
I also make super cute gifts for them- last year I did these: You can buy a set of redbox codes & have them mailed to yourself- I made cute little cards & then filled the bag with popcorn & their favorite candy! Super fun & different than a starbuck gc!
