October 13: We finally found Nolan's costume for Halloween. He wanted to be the Last Airbender. I thought, nice, easy peasy. I can make it, since it’s just some pants, a shirt and some face paint. But it turned finding the appropriate components was not very easy. I searched the internet many times. We even checked value village for things. Nothing. I love to DIY and I was quite annoyed that this was not as easy as I thought it would be. So then I decided, let’s just buy it. But turned out to buy the actual costume was extremely pricey. Not worth the cost for one wear to trick or treat. I didn’t know what to do. I told Nolan we have to change what he wants to be for Halloween. He wasn’t upset, but I was a little miffed. But then I don’t know how, because I had searched the internet, Brian found the costume at Party City. It was on clearance for $10. We decided to run out and check the store, noting that it may not be there or it was a mistake or it would not fit. But guess what!!? We found it, it was $10 and it fit! It was the perfect fit for this year only. He would out grow it fast, but all good, because can you really go wrong for $10?! I was thrilled, sad I didn’t get to DIY, but it’s a great costume! Brian is sporting mask in the photo, which we won’t be using. We used face paint to draw the arrow on Nolan’s head. I am so glad I didn't give up trying and let Brian was able to find it. The costume was great! Nolan: The Last Airbender!!
Great page Jagruti!!! I loved reading your journaling and I am very proud of your diligence to keep looking for the costume and what a bargain. I know you wanted to make it, but I agree $10 is a great find! Love the way you scrapped this! Well done! TFS!
