January 20, 2023 - John is sick, really sick.. The ambulance picks him up from home today to transport him to a local hospital. I just assume I could ride along. Nope. Apparently there is some regulation that does not allow a family member to be in the ambulance. What? But I don’t drive! I immediately think of UBER. I go to the UBER app on my phone, but I had switched phones, and the app isn’t connecting to PayPal. No time for this! I get into the car, say my prayers, and the car and I amazingly arrive at the hospital in one piece.
Disclaimer... I haven’t driven much more than an hour or two in 37 years. John is my chauffeur. And I love him for that. I really am petrified to drive. But when push comes to shove, I guess I can do it.
January 2025 - Update. I’m here, John is gone. I am still driving. I don’t love it, but I can function. I even find myself occasionally chauffeuring people around. Go for it, girl!
