Oh gosh Marilyn.. so sorry you ended up with vertigo as you worked on painting your deck. Hopefully it will start cooling off a bit.. I know for us the heat is supposed to break a bit for the next few days, so I hope the same for you. I know you were determined to do it yourself, but glad you got a handyman to assist and finish the painting for you. The patio will get finished and you will enjoy sitting out there enjoying your backyard oasis. Hugs.. love how you scrapped this with all the paint and photos showing the progress. TFS! @cfile Thanks, Christa. Cool today, but then temps start creeping up again. Next week they are talking about heat indices around 110.

@mcurtt oh gosh.. it is so humid here.. suppose to have heat index today of 100.. next week higher I think.. ugh stay cool!

@mcurtt yes I agree.. ours went kaput in May the week it was nice and cool.. we had to get a whole new AC & Heating unit.. Thank goodness it happened then and not the following week when it started to feel like hades! It was a huge expense but like when I came inside this morning after our walk at 4am Thank goodness for AC as it was a sweat box even at that time! Hugs!

Oh my gosh! I remember you talking about doing this at our last chat. I'm so sorry that you got dehydrated and had vertigo for a week after that. Yikes. I'm glad you hired someone to finish for you. This heat has been no joke this summer! The progress so far looks great on your deck!

Our back patio and landscaping around the front is a mess still this summer. It's been too hot to work outside on the very few days I've been home on the weekends to work on pulling the weeds. Lol. Maybe tomorrow I'll get a little done.

@Karen Thanks, Karen. I've hired out the guy, but it has been too hot for him to finish the upper deck. It is essentially some of the railing & trim. The floor is done. Today, it was a bit cooler, not too windy, so I've been outside for the last six hours burning & trimming trees & burning that. Time for my shower & then I'm relaxing for the day. Good luck with your outdoor projects. I agree, it has been miserable & they are predicting even hotter weather next week.

@cfile Oh no! A/C is a requirement as far as I'm concerned. Glad you are now basking in cool air.
