Those Were The Days : Vintage Layout : July 23rd 2024

I Love playing with Vintage photos...The only problem is...I always take too much time to fix them...I find it relaxing & interesting at the same time & sometimes get lost in the process...I work in PSE 19...There is a setting in there called "Spot Healing Brush"...I used this tool on almost all of my photos [ & on some papers & elements...too ]......There is always some little thing that needs to be removed or fixed in a vintage photo...Specifically...Often times when you enlarge or lighten them up...You get these "white spots"...This tool is remarkable in eliminating these rather quickly...and when you have 30 or 40 to erase...it does take time...There were a lot on this photo to get rid of...It is tedious work...and takes a bit of time...The original photo I worked with was way too dark...So,I right away lightened it up...slowly...Adjusting the saturation,the sharpening & color levels...it was too dark of a brown...so I lightened that first after the other things I mentioned...I tried the Auto Tone,Auto Fix & Color Correction...but it is my experience they don't really work & it didn't...I even worked with the RGB Levels too...I did a lot of work with saturation & color tone...I changed the tone multiple times before I was happy with it to go with the papers & colors of the elements...I took out a lot of green...because I decided I wanted to color her dress a mint green shade to go with the layout greens...but lighter...Now,I know that wouldn't be everybody's choice...but I like how it turned out...I also adjusted the lighting several times before I was completely happy...and I also cropped the photo...just a bit...
