For this page I used the kit from Kim Jensen called Friend in Me and from Lynn Grieveson, Marks and Masks 21.
I used to call my daughter's friends, The Scooby Gang. I loved having them here at our house. They really were such great kids. They wanted to watch Pulp Fiction and being the parent who wouldn't let them do that unless their parents said it was okay, I said no. Next time they're over, they got me good. This movie that I never heard of, The Boondock Saints, it's P.G. Oh no, it wasn't. My son spent the entire movie sitting with her friends, with his eyes or ears covered. One of my daughter's friends did that. My son used to play chess with one of them too. I miss the Scooby Gang and yes, We've watched the Boondock Saints next movie. Years later.
How fun! I love that you had a nickname for them, and the story about the movies is priceless. Framing out the photo with washi is a great touch! Terrific page!
@KimJ Thank you, your kind words have made my day. I really loved having the high school kids at my house. @Cherylndesigns Thank you, it's tough when you feel like the only parent who really cares about what your kids see. Trust me when I say the Boondock Saints was naughty movie. I did enjoy it and we joke about it to this day with my son who is 28 now. I took my daughter to that Tom Cruise movie because of the same reason, oh no, nope. You had me at hello, he had me at nope.
@trekmom It IS tough being "that mom". My dd, who's in her 40's, and I were laughing about the time she talked me into taking her to see Rocky Horror. We were part of the "Rocky Horror Insanity" when people took "props" and went down on the stage to dance during the movie (back in the Dark Ages). Anyway, she was probably about 19, but she also wanted to take her boyfriend. I had totally forgotten how "raunchy" that movie was. It was kind of embarrassing for her. Funny, we were laughing about that Sunday evening. We all have "those movie" stories.
I loved learning about the Scooby gang now I’m curious what my friends’ moms called our group! I love your use of color, especially the red paint on the yellow paper!
@Cherylndesigns I am glad not to have children anymore but I miss it, I really loved this group of kids. Rocky Horror is so great, we love Meatloaf. My Ear, Nose and Throat doctor did surgery on him, not sure why but it saved his vocal cords. He has a gold album framed in his office. @umyesh Thank you so much! I'm sure your friend's mom loved having you over.
