JOURNALING: The Day the Baby Arrived
Dear Diary: I'm very confused. When I was 4 and asked Mommy where I came from, she said the stork brought me. I'd always wondered why my hometown (Rust, Austria) had all these storks nesting on rooftops. So, it made sense. Then, last year, I found this old picture of Daddy carrying my little brother Matteo in his mail pouch. (He's a postman). When I asked Mom about it, she said the postal service had taken over baby delivery by the time Matteo came along. No wonder Daddy always came home tired after work. I know the post office has been making cutbacks so I guess that explains what I learned about where babies come from in health class today. The post office must have stopped baby delivery. It seems so complicated now. Why didn't they just give the job back to the storks?
