Journaling: In May, James asked if I would be interested in taking a long weekend trip to Starved Rock in Illinois. I’ve been telling him I wanted to camp there for several years, so I was interested, but then he said he wanted to go hiking there, but he didn’t want to camp, he wanted to get an AirBnB for the nights. That threw me off for a bit, but then I thought, why not? He found a cute little apartment in downtown Utica for about $200 a night. The park was only a few miles away, so it was perfect. We took Friday and Monday off work. We left Friday morning and got to the park by noon. Our first stop was the visitors center and then we did the St. Louis Canyon trail which was about 3.15 miles round trip. It was hot and humid and also rained a little bit, but the rain felt great. The trails were so pretty and green and the waterfall at the end was super cool too. After we got back to the Lodge, James’ friend texted to ask if we saw the murder cave. What?!? Yikes. (see page 2)
What a splendid view! I loved reading the journaling on both pages and this will be so great in your book! What a cute and cozy b&b with that wonderful view! I love these little towns and after the hikes, I would be ready for a beer too! Thanks for sharing Karen! I love your nature filled double page of your trip! Well scrapped with the perfect elements and papers!
