Journaling: Turns out there were 3 women murdered in St. Louis Canyon in 1960. I’m glad I didn’t know that when we were on that trail! When we finished that trail we had a beverage at the lodge that really hit the spot!. Next we did the Starved Rock trail (.6 miles) which was very anticlimactic. The bench above was actually level, the trail was just steep! The last trail of the day (2.16 miles) was the French Canyon loop. There was one canyon at the beginning that was mostly stone and very cool, but then we had some trouble finding the start of the bigger loop trail. I loved seeing all the waterfalls! When we finished that trail we headed for our Airbnb in Utica. It was above a shop at the end of the one block of town and over looked all the downtown outdoor restaurant seating. It was so cool and we were right in the middle of it!
Gorgeous page Karen and fantastic journaling. So glad you stayed in the Air B&B especially after that text message re the cave! I love the elements and papers you used to scrap your awesome hike. I can't do all that up and down climbing anymore. I love seeing that you and your hubby do and have captured such gorgeous woodland photos! Great double pager. Thank you for sharing with us!
@cfile Thanks! Yeah, we usually camp, but I have to say that I really loved doing the hiking stuff and then having a comfy place to stay afterwards! My knees were a little mad at me after all the climbing we did over these four days too! Ugh! Lol!
