Journaling: I’m not sure how or when my parents starting buying the annual ornaments, but I do know it has to be my favorite Christmas tradition. Their idea was when we moved out, we’d have some meaningful decorations for our trees. I have all sorts of ornaments to decorate my tree with showcasing things I loved throughout my childhood and into college. My mom skipped a year once Amy, Joe, Melis and I after Dad died and found that we were all disappointed at the end of a beloved traditional. She immediately started up again the following year. Todd and I mix ornaments from our travels in. He didn’t have any ornaments at all when we started dating. He knew he was “in the family” when he started getting his own.
