Starting study at The University of Auckland was such an exciting prospect. I knew it would be intense but I didn’t quite realise how intense or excited I would be doing a totally different degree than I initially had set out to do. The first half of Semester one, 2013 was full on to say the least. It all started with the Counselling, Social Work & Human Services orientation on March 1st when I also stopped off at City Campus to buy at least some of the textbooks I needed. On 16th of March, I was hard at work writing the first of many assignments - I thoroughly loved doing assignments and research so was in my happy place that day. On April 4th, the disability studies students got to go to the “Big idea Expo” - I met so many new people and made some great contacts while I explored the expo. On 10th April, I was sitting in a three hour Sociology lecture - I found this course rather interesting. By this time I was looking forward to the holidays but I still had to submit an assignment to the Assignment Centre on April 16th.
