"My landlord back in the day, being a "Falconer" always interested me since my Mom was very involved in the local Audubon Society chapter. The day my Mother passed away (Jan 25. 1990), was the same day his falcon took off and never came back.. I found that very symbolic, especially when I got cards from the funeral home and in the bottom of the bag that held the cards, in one of the folds of the bottom of the bag I found a falcon feather. Very odd, but symbolic I think in a way. Since Mom’s passing and since we have moved here to Virginia, it is very odd. It is many many years since Mom has passed, but when I need her most she sends me a sign. It was the week after my 50th Birthday and CJ and I went out to breakfast at the Jewish Mother. When we went to leave, I stopped at the door as sitting on my car was the Falcon/hawk for at least 10 minutes. This was so abnormal as there was nothing around but a parking lot. I look forward to these signs as when I needed her most, with these signs I knew she was with me. The last time I saw the Falcon/ Cooper’s Hawk, was 9/19/18.. it was right after I got the call that my Aunt Carol (Mom’s Sister) passed away. I knew from seeing the bird perched on our fence that Aunt Carol arrived at the pearly gates of Heaven and is now with Mom and the rest of her family. I always embrace the “Signs”."

Ohhhh, Christa, what a story! Took my breath away. I will never look at falcons in the same way again!! I LOVE how you stapled the falcon's feather to your Notebook. Fabulous take on this challenge!! Thanks so much for sharing your story.

Christa, this is so beautifully journaled and I got goosebumps reading how the falcon became a message from your mom. Gorgeous design here too with the natural touches and the depth of the shadowing.
