This was a hard one!!
But I loved doing it.
I was inspired by the cutout, the muted colours throughout the inspiration piece that had just a pop of colour and the quilted, stitched feel.
I wanted my layout to feel like a little piece of a memory quilt - basically imagine my square being only 6x6 - all those little bits would be stitched down, or embroidered on.
I used 100% Rachel Jefferies, a mix of the following kits - Happiness is Homemade Let it Go

I'm in the middle of leaving some serious gallery love here, but I've copied your link and emailed it to myself so I can peruse it when I have a bit more time to appreciate it. Well, now that explains your design sense... BTW, I'm sure if you have questions, you can ask away. The Learning Pad is also available and has quite a few tutorials.
@Claire Grantham Which version of PSE do you have? I am trying to find you out from our tutorials one that explains how to "separate" shadows and tweak them.
