what an interesting piece of history you've shared! i've never heard anything like this but the humble onion is really the basis of so much cookery that i imagine those Johnies were absolutely greeted as heroes!

LOVE that you are teaching me new stuff, as one can tell here, more than how to scrap an amazing page....I had no clue about this!!! lovely photo, and LOVE the way you told the fact... love how you always manage to make full on pages i a minimalist style... another fabulous page!!!!
