Description
This is for the MOC7 Challenge #20, Storytelling!

The journaling reads:
My mother wore this ring basically for as long as I can remember. This was
her engagement ring and there was also a band that fit together with this that was added on her wedding day. When she passed away, this ring went into a box in my closet and I didn’t really give it very much thought at all.
It’s a size 6.5 so it was not meant to be that I could ever wear this ring myself. When Rachel got engaged, I offered this set to Rudy so he would have a real ring to offer her. It was just a tiny bit too big for Rachel but it didn’t seem like it would be a problem. And, I guess I thought I was fine with whatever might happen with the ring. But, one day, I noticed Rachel was not wearing the ring. When I asked why, she told me she had lost it.
Honestly, until that moment, if you had asked me, I would have told you that the ring was not all that important and that I was not all that attached to it at all. When Rachel told me it was lost, I felt the wind just fly out of
my chest. It was a devastating loss. I was thrown back into a stage of disbelief. The grief was surprising and overwhelming, especially since it has been over 10 years since my mother passed. Weeks later, when all hope of finding the ring was lost, Rachel found the ring in the bottom of a drawer at her apartment. The little band that had been with it is gone forever but the main ring was found! When Rachel told me she found it, she offered it back to me, and I said, “Yes thank you.” I’m not super proud that I took it back again, but I am incredibly comforted knowing it is back in my closet hiding safely in it’s box.

To create this, I used the Lilypad collab Heartsong!
What a precious ring! My mum gave me her old Russian wedding rings when she got her new proper set. She told me they won't last long because they weren't overly well made, just a cheap set that she'd had for years and years. But oh my heart sank when one of them broke, she laughed and said it really wasn't a big deal. I can only imagine that was miniscule compared to hat you were feeling!! So glad your Mum's ring was found!!!

I'm so glad the ring was found. I think it was meant to stay with you. It is a pretty little ring. Thank you so much for joining the storytelling challenge!
