My Mom's Peanut Butter Fudge Recipe

Description
This recipe makes an 8x8 pan of fudge. If you're a proficient fudge maker, you can double the recipe and make an 8 1/2 x 11 pan. One note from me is use a candy thermometer! I've had so many people tell me they can't make fudge. When I ask them if they use a candy thermometer, they say "no". I say "that's why". It's a must-have for making candy. The drop of candy in cold water never worked for me. LOL

@Dalis You can buy them at the grocery store. I have two of them because one Christmas I was deep into candy making and mine broke. I can't be without one. Of course, Mom and Grandma never had to use one. They did the "ball in the cold water thing". LOL

@Dalis In "the old days", Mom always had a glass of cold water sitting beside the fudge she was making. When the fudge looked like it was getting to about done, she would drop a small bit of it into the water. If it stayed together in a little ball, then it had reached soft ball stage. LOL I never could master that method.
