JOURNALING (174 words):
My love for watercolor began when I was a teenager because of the artwork of my future father-in-law. He was an amazing watercolorist and the impetus for my interest. When I was 19, I took a class, bought some cheap paint and started practicing. Life soon got in the way, and my supplies started gathering dust. Over the years, I’d take a class here and there but never devoted any real time to it. In 1997, I discovered scrapbooking and all other creative endeavors (counted cross stitch, painting, etc.) took a backseat to this all-consuming hobby.
Fast forward to 2019. I’ve rediscovered my love for watercolor and the possibilities of incorporating it into my memory-keeping and other papercrafts. I’ve invested a significant amount of money in Daniel Smith and other artist-quality paints (no more student-grade paints!), superior brushes and nothing but 100% cotton paper. I’ve taken new classes and still have more on the horizon. Watercolor has a mind of its own, and I can’t wait to see what else it can teach me.
Hi! As I'm running out of time before the final MOC8 deadline, I'm stopping quickly to let you know that your layout meets the Youer Than You Challenge requirements. I'll be back later to really enjoy reading your page and at that time I'll leave you a lovely comment. Thanks for being patient and thanks for playing in my challenge! ((HUGS)) Cheryl
