@cfile ya know, if I hadn't found Laura Erickson, the Dr. Ruth of Ornithology, I wouldn't have that photo... I just had to see the 'first bird of the New Year,' and to be honest, I thought it would be a chickadee cuz they are always at the feeders in the morning, but on NY there was this bright yellow goldfinch, it's feathers just blowing in the wind, makes me happy that it brought back fond memories of your Mom

@vixen I was hearing the chickadees yesterday. They are always flitting between our crepe myrtles just beautiful.. I wonder what I will see this afternoon after the snow stops!
