How did I get my online username? The question left me going “Hrm, how DID I decide on ”Shastahun” as a username for myself?! It’s been such a long time since I made my first profile with Shastahun (google email) and then it just stuck and I ran with it. To be honest, when I was first setting up my email with google, I wanted my first and last name, but oddly enough it was already taken, so I was thinking of ways I could shorten it or make it different, and I thought about how I was always calling people “hun” at the time, and since my first name is Shasta I decided on “Shastahun”. Over the years I would use this username for pretty much EVERYTHING. I was once asked if I would ever change it since my real name is used in my username, but I honestly have to say I wouldn’t change it. Most people don’t really believe me when I say my name is Shasta anyways, so I don’t really feel like I’m giving too much away by having my real name in it.
