Where's the nickname Nana come from? When I was small and I could not speak yet so my dad gave me a nickname when I wanted one more candies .. I could not say "give" but I said "Nana, Nana" (Which is almost as give in Finnish => "anna" is "give" in Finnish). That's how my nickname was given to me and my dad was the only one who used the name for long time. In 2003, I started work on Nordea's marketing (one of the biggest bank in Nordics) and we had 4 person in department who´s name was Anne (which is my real name). We all had our nicknames and I took my nickname Nana to use and since that most of my acquaintances/friends knows me as Nana. Today, the nickname is so well-established that I'm even considering swapping it officially ...
I use Nana77 in many forums. 77 refers to the year of birth. It's easier to use some kind of familiar nickname to identify myself than be "ordinarymartha1625" ... However, sometimes it "irritates" myself because Nana means granny or refers to somebody who takes care of children in many languages
