After DH pranged our car, our neighbours gave us their old beach car which they were going to get rid of. It was scruffy and smelly and full of character and made us laugh. And since we soon after moved into a very inner city apartment and only used it rarely, we just kept it. But it wasn't worth paying the hundreds of dollars a month for a carpark spot in the complex, so we kept it on the street on a rough edge of the city parking zone. Which worked fine … until it didn't. :-(
