Journaling reads:
We were so young back then. I was 20 and you were 23. We didn’t know what we were getting into. I have no idea where the time has gone…but somehow 16 years has passed. We’ve been through a few things and not all has been good….but looking back now, most has been very good. Our boys are the absolute best, of course. From working together at Safelite & Cracker Barrel, going to college together, building our house(s) together and raising our boys together, we have always been a team. I know we are beyond DIFFERENT but I always looked at it as a way to create the best team. Our boys are so blessed to have a mommy who makes, scrapbooks, creates and is tender and soft. They are even more blessed to have a daddy who is hilarious, friendly, rough, tough, fearless and loves to play. I’m so sorry that we lost our relationship somewhere in there between the late-nights, storytimes, changing diapers, sick babies and just everyday life. But I am so thankful that you forced me to finally see how far apart we had become. Now, I’m hopeful and optimistic for our future together. I love you Jesse. I loved you then, but it’s not the same as the love I have now.
