Journaling
(My questions and notes are in bold italics my mother's answers are regular text).
Was it hard keeping that big of a secret from me?
Considering we share everything and I don't believe I have kept any secrets from you, yes it was extremely hard! Knowing that something this big was going to change your future and I couldn't talk to you or get excited about it with you. We share everything and celebrate together, share ideas of how things go and inspire each other, and I couldn't do that with this, I didn’t slip up though (but your nana nearly did... a few times).
How did you feel on the day watching him propose?
It was so emotional, yet I didn't cry. Surprising really. I was too focused on trying to get the photos taken in the right way so you and Phill went together last. You like planning how things should go and you were trying to organise the photo order, not knowing we already had it planned. Only difference was the both of you were getting together last instead of first. I had my camera but can't even remember if I took pictures or not. It’s just as well we were with the Photopass lady, plus I knew Andy was videoing and Kayleigh was taking pictures, so figured I was safe to enjoy the moment.
I remember your 1st word after he got down on one knee and pulled the ring out. Surprise and shock caught you I think, as all you said was "Phillip"! You said yes, of course, (after 8 years together would you really say no) and I just remember thinking ‘yeah, you have your Prince Phillip my little Beauty-ful princess’.
I can’t believe you managed to keep it a secret from me for 4 months! I was so surprised when Phill got down on one knee in front of the castle. I can’t believe the first thing I did was yell at him, but when my brain processed it was really happening, there was no doubt in my mind but to say yes. I’m surprised you didn’t cry. I definitely welled up, everyone suddenly cheering around us was quick to shock me back down to earth though. I was even more surprised when Phill asked me to take off the ring! To be honest, I’d barely even glanced at it, I had noticed it was gold; which wouldn’t be my usual style; but I was just happy to be engaged. I didn’t care about the ring - So I was so shocked when he asked me to take it off! Luckily he explained the story pretty quickly, and it’s crazy to think now that he picked out 5 rings for me. But as long as he was my fiance I would have been happy with any ring!
Challenge Requirements
Interview someone, create a page that includes both questions and answers (from both interviewer and interviewee) and journaling must be a minimum of 250 words. Photos are optional - The questions I asked weren't really suitable for me to answer each individually, but to keep to the spirit of the challenge I added my thoughts that I spoke to my mam as a summary at the end. I hope that counts. I have 1232 words across the double page spread.
