When I was growing up, the Italian jokes abounded. This was the least offensive of them. My dad, first generation Italian born here told the jokes. We weren't taught to speak Italian because we were Americans. I've been at Saint Vincent's hospital a lot lately for my mom and I seriously can't stop laughing every time I see his hand outstretched like this. How do you stop an Italian from talking? Tie their hands behind their back. Oh dad, oh no. I'm going somewhere bad for this as a Roman Catholic and hope Saint Vincent has a sense of humor.
When I was in first grade a little girl called me a Guinea Wop. The one time I punched someone. I didn't know how to punch so I winded up like Popeye and let her rip. I went to the principal's office, went home expecting my punishment. My mom was laughing so hard, she hurt herself. She was on the phone with the kid's dad, she's Italian too. He said she deserved it. I never punched anyone again. I love being Italian.
I used Kim Jensen's Hello Spring PPs White paper and MP tape Lime, Washi Tape.
Stringbats 9 Hexagons Brown 3.
ohhh...this is so cool, you made me LOL here! love to read about your background story, your dad...my sister lives in Italy for more than 30 years, and I've learnt to love that country too!!
I love that you picked a hexagon for this challenge! The stitched border with the joke right over the photo is so perfect! I loved learning more about you and your childhood from the description, too. I agree with Dalis — add the whole story to the page before you save or print it! Thanks for joining Kim’s June challenge!
Wow, thank you so much! I was worried about this offending people. @Ferdy Thank you! @Cherylndesigns Thank you. I can work on that later, I had to remake this as the rules clearly said no white background. Silly me. @umyesh thank you. I love those hexagons and the name for them too! I'm going to work on adding that background story to the page later, when my brain is working better. @KimJ Thank you so much. I adore the Stringbats!
