1/21/23 Dear Ada, So it's now 2025, and you're about to graduate high school and enter college. The big question is - are you playing college golf? It's always been a dream of yours to do so and I always wanted that dream of yours to come true for you. But this year has been rough for you. After years of pain and complaining and "dealing", this past November you had MRIs on your wrists finally, as well as arthrograms. Unfortunately what they found wasn't good for you as a golfer. They found that you have tears in your TFCC (triangular fibrocartilage complex) area. I don't necessarily understand all of the medical jargon, but you have multiple tears in this area. We've been told that you could have surgery to clean the area out, which might give temporary pain relief, but the odds of it repairing itself is slim due to not enough blood flow in that area of your wrist. It's nothing we can fix with surgery or with medication or with rest. It's simply something you'll need to deal with every day. Manage the pain. Learn to swing smart and not hit the ground with too much force. For a while this allowed you to take a break from golfing.

But now, getting back into the swing of things is making you nervous. A steroid shot in each wrist has helped with the pain temporarily, which the hand specialist said would do. But you were going back and forth on whether to continue or to keep your dream alive. Two weeks ago, you prayed that God would give you a sign. The next day you found an unused Wichita State golf tee in the parking lot at Champions. We immediately scheduled a college tour for there and OSU for spring break. Whether this was your sign or not, we're not sure. But now that you're on the verge of graduating, I wonder where you'll be going. What will you be doing once you're at college? Has your dream come true or have you put that dream aside for another? No matter what happens, I love you and support you. -Mom

Beautiful page & journaling. My daughter is currently a freshman in college, and I can say for sure, that having a teenager/young adult is sooo much harder than having a toddler! There were so many things about the whole college admission we just didn't know. She is such a great kid, but there are so many different things to worry about with an 18-year-old! I'm so sorry about your daughter's injury, but kids are pretty tough! Best of luck on the college search!!

Beautiful letter to Ada! Exciting to see what the future holds for our kids, but a little scary too! Praying for her in the next few years as she visits colleges and decides what to do!
