JOURNALING:

Let’s hope this year is WAY better than last - no more pandemic, someone to be proud of in the WH.

Started the New Year “right” with black-eyed peas & ham. This is a Southern tradition that Jim introduced me to – have to continue it! He used to use dried peas that we soaked overnight – I used frozen ones – much easier! Even bought a jar of Jim’s favorite Tappey’s pepper sauce to spice them up.

Buckeyes won Sugar Bowl!

Karon was here and we did some work on the puzzle; fun.

Dear God! What is happening to America? I’m physically ill as I watch the television…can I curl up in a ball and not hear anything or feel any pain?

David called tonight with great news – Reece got full scholarship to school! So proud of her!! I told him after the trafedy in DC I REALLY needed his good news!! It helped lift my depression a bit.

Made chicken noodle soup at Karon’s today. I now have 4 containers (1 serving each) in my freezer and one sitting in my refrigerator. Karon has the 2 larger containers – about 3 C each.

I like how nice and "clean" this is. Neat. Certainly covers a bunch of emotions from the promise of the new year to the shock of what happened in DC, to the making of real comfort food - chicken noodle soup.
