Journaling reads:
February 2025 - John was a collector, no doubt about it. In his “music room” upstairs, he had amassed quite the collection of vinyl albums which had migrated into the loft hallway and beyond. 95% of the audiophile equipment is now out for consignment and most of the vinyl has been sold. So I was left with the Per Madsen modular vinyl storage racks. They are made of solid red oak, quite heavy & expensive to purchase. No one would want to pay me for their true value. So I decided to keep them and turn them into a wall unit. And here is the shuffle. While the walls were bare, I started filling in the holes left behind with Spackle, where John showcased artwork, etc. Then I began painting, Joe was a good sport, drove in from Chicago with his work clothes and did the rolling while I worked on trim. Over the course of the next week, I vacuumed, cleaned the floor, polished each rack and began the assembly of my wall. It is still not quite done. I’m waiting for the paint base for “Into the Wild” to be delivered to my local store for the accent wall. Once that is painted, I can place the last 2 columns of racks over in the corner. Purchasing tempered glass to lay across the oak slats to form the shelf unit. A bit of cable ties for stability. I hope my vision becomes reality soon.
46 record racks
5 sets of compact disc drawers
1 drawer unit for 45’s
2 cassette drawer units
8 bases & tops
