I've actually been wanting a parrot again for a long time. Several years actually, but we've had a cat and because of that it wasn't really an option. Now we no longer have a cat and then it was possible to fulfill my wish. I didn't want one as demanding as Yoshi was, so we chose a conure. Kim Roger was in Tønsberg and picked him up on Saturday, March 14, 2026. We're still working and getting to know him, but he's so cute!
Well hello there! My sister had a ninja conure too. She lived to be 23 years old. Love the little arrows pointing up and down from your photo to your title. Adorable layout for an adorable birdie
Thank you for translating the journaling. What a sweet story. I have never heard of a conure before so I had to go look them up. Your bird is beautiful and sounds like the perfect pet! I love the way you used all the different shades of green to colour match with your feathered friend. And love the arrows too and the matching frames. Wonderful!
I love your bird, she is beautiful. I really like the vertical design here and the split of the frames at the top and bottom with journaling connecting the two. Congrats on the FF, well deserved.
nawww totally cute, (let me just remind myself they can live like 30yrs and i'm not a spring chicken myself anymore). Love the game name and your design here is awesome - if it wasn;t already in Froggy Faves, i'd add you and Noco but then it would also look like i'm just playing favourites with bird pages...
can i ask how your budgies get along with Noco (if they've been introduced yet?) I did consider a rescue conure back before we got our 2 most recent cockatiels (George in my avatar had a partner but she died at 13y.o. (unknown cause) so George was an only bird for a few years) but i read mixed species flocks don't always work out and i didn't want to make George too territorial or feel like he was being crowded out of his own house. Way too much info but that's why i ask anyway.
@bellbird aww, thank you the budgies have their own room(s) and have shown no interest in coming into the living room now that it's cat free. Noco is in the living room so they are separated, but can see each other. (we have built an extra wall with bird wire from when we had cats)
We have introduced them from afar quite a few times, but they are scared of each other. We will keep trying, but I don't think they will ever be together unsupervised. So if we didn't have this much space I don't think we could have gotten Noco.
