Journaling:
"The only holiday I decorate for is Christmas. As a kid, Mom decorated the house for all the holidays, but then when we got older, she too would only decorate for Christmas. Some time while living in Florida Mom went to a craft fair and bought this Jack O' lantern, so every Halloween she would put this out and place some candy in it to give out to the kids. After she passed, Dad gave it to me as he disliked Halloween so much! Now every year I pull this out on Halloween, Instead of putting the candy in it any more, I place a little candle in it and light it, as we sit on the front porch waiting for the Trick or Treaters, I found though last night that you can't have the candle lit and keep the cover on. I am not sure if the ceramic and the paint is tempered for the heat of the candle. This is how I decorate for Halloween and remember Mom and our childhood."
Your page, and your journaling, are fantastic! I love the story your shared about the pumpkin! I hope it is ok and you can continue to pull it out year after year. What a great keepsake! Thanks for joining in the challenge!
