- Last year, Dave made the decision to put Bear down after the first lockdown rather than see him suffer in pain during his senior years. Bear was seventeen years old so had lived a great life fetching balls, going on walks, being taken for drives, playing chase annoying all of the family cats who only just tolerated him and becoming a farm dog. His daughter who had grown up with Bear knew how much Dave was missing his ‘right hand’ companion and commissioned an artist to create an art piece from a photo of Bear. Dave absolutely loved it and now has a treasure to keep.
