To the future of Us:
Since the first day it’s been us against the world. Ups & downs that could rival the best TV dramas - we always persevered - together. We have been through years of famine & feast. And finally after children, multiple moves, family chaos, jealousy and varied jobs we settled into some calm & normalcy. Our family home, a dog, happy kids - it was all beautiful. 2018 life crashed down around us and we’ve been climbing out of the rubble ever since. But we’ve done it together. 2022 was the first year the shaky ground was more stable. You were able to go back to work...I got promoted at my job. D started community college & X is a senior. We were able to get out for some family time at events and we also got to have some date nights for just us two. As we move toward empty nesters (yes they will leave us one-day) we are finding new rhythms for our love. From wide-eyed young adults to middle-aged maturity we’ve grown & changed many ways over. I don't know what this future looks like but know that it's always Us against the world. 1-21-2023 Donae
