My maternal grandmother (of French-Canadian and Irish origin) was a real force of nature. Grew up in hardscrabble poverty; and had to leave school as a teenager to work in a textile factory. Played hockey competitively (yes! there were competitive hockey teams for women in the 1920s, in both Canada and the US); owned and operated her own hair salon. Married a charming Irishman; had six children, and then numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren too. Died at the age of 96. Here she is (third from the left) at about 74-75 years of age, totally rocking a mauve pantsuit. And o wow! our shoes: fashion victims of the 1970s!...

This just cracks me up! The title made me giggle, but really you have a photo that just captures the 70s vibe--and not just for laypeople but for nuns, too!
Love your page! Love how you captured the story behind the scenes. So funny! Your captions for the outfits add so much personality to your page! Fun page!
